A capoeira e a produção de cenas de dissenso: um panorama bibliográfico

Abstract

The aim of this article is to identify how capoeira can produce dissent, taking into account the works published over the last 3 decades (from 1993 to 2023). The bibliographical research was carried out on the Journal Portal of the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) and was guided by the poetics of knowledge and literariness, inspired by the scene method. The scenes produced refer to the ways in which capoeira can cause cracks and tears in the dominant social fabric, the ways in which women's participation in capoeira can be reconfigured and the dissent that pernadas and rasteiras provoke in racism. In these scenes, dissent takes part in the game of capoeira and acts in the construction of new landscapes of the possible.

Author Biographies

Douglas Almir Tolfo Rossa, Instituto Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS)

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Specialist in School Physical Education, and Master’s degree in Physical Education from UFSM. Physical Education instructor (EBTT, DE) at IFRS—Vacaria Campus and doctoral candidate in the Graduate Program in Psychology at UFSC.

Kátia Maheirie, Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)

Kátia Maheirie holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UFSC, as well as a master’s and a doctorate in Social Psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo. She completed postdoctoral fellowships in Education at UNICAMP; in Social Psychology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain); and in Social Psychology at PUC/SP. She is a retired Full Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, where she serves as a tenured professor and volunteer in the Graduate Program in Psychology (PPGP). She was a Visiting Professor in the Graduate Program in Psychology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (2022–2024) and continues to serve as an Adjunct Professor in that program. She served as editor of the journal *Psicologia Sociedade* from 2008 to 2011, editor-in-chief of the *Revista de Ciências Humanas* (UFSC) from 2013 to 2019, and editor-in-chief of the *Revista Psicologia Política* from 2020 to 2025. She served as a consultant on CAPES’ Qualis Commission for Psychology Journals from 2015 to 2017 and as a consultant on the Evaluation Commission for Graduate Programs in Psychology from 2017 to 2020. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Association of Political Psychology (2025–2026), having previously served on the board during the 2017–2018 term. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association for Research and Graduate Studies in Psychology (2018–2020). She is part of the coordinating team for ANPEPP’s Permanent Forum of Scientific Journals (2023–2025) and is a member of the PePsic Network’s Management Committee (2023–2025). She is a Productivity Researcher at CNPq, and her research focuses on social psychology, specifically in the field of political psychology, with an emphasis on aesthetics and politics, aesthetic workshops, art and collectives, political subjectivation, creative processes, and social assistance policies (CRAS).
